Rwamatamu is a family-run washing station founded in 2015 by Rutaganda Gaston and Mukantwaza Laetitia, set in the rolling hills of Nyamasheke District in Rwanda's Western Province, overlooking Lake Kivu. The station has a strong social mission: 80% of the workforce is female, and a dedicated women's cooperative gives seasonal workers their own plots to cultivate and sell coffee independently. Stray Coffee, roasting in Munich since 2021, sources this lot through direct trade.
