Sweetgrass (Hierochloe odorata) is known as the hair of the Earth mother in indigenous traditions, braided with care as an act of reverence for nature. Burned at the beginning of a prayer or ceremony, its sweet, vanilla-like smoke is said to attract positive energies and help reconnect to the earth. Traditionally used to treat colds, coughs and sore throats.
